Mesa Verde showcases the incredible ancient communities of the Anasazi. Stunning, spiritual, magical, impressive, rugged, perplexing, spellbinding – words are not available to describe the awe of standing in this place. Can pictures do justice? Only slightly. The feel of sun and breeze, smell of bergamot and musk, space and distance of sandstone block structures etched into steep cliffs are a few explainable sensations. The people of Mesa Verde were hunters, farmers with elaborate agricultural systems, creators of pottery and weaved baskets, and they had a high knowledge of astronomy. This park is a 10!
