Susan's Reflections:

The Great Basin National Park is located in Nevada and a portion of western Utah. Mountains, creeks, meadows and forests are found in this location. The Bristlecone Pine can live over 4000 years and are found in small groves around the park.  Lehman Caves is a “living cave’” where stalactites continue to grow. While not as grand as Carlsbad Caverns, this cave has beautiful formations and is well worth a visit. In an effort to prevent the deadly White-Nose Syndrome infecting bats, visitors are required to soak their shoes in a cleansing solution before entering the cave. We boondocked in a nearby desert field, set up lawn chairs and watched the dazzling Perseid meteor shower in this dark sky location. The Great Basin National Park is a vast, diverse, wonderful place to be intrigued and inspired.
