I have visited Glacier twice and am a huge fan. Going-To-The-Sun is open generally June – September and offers a spectacular drive over mountains, through thick forests, beside glistening lakes and features countless waterfalls. If you intend to visit put it on your calendar! I am not being hysterical. In 1850 there were 150 glaciers in the park. At last count there were 25 glaciers in various stages of melting. My first visit (2018) I saw a herd of bighorn sheep, mountain goats, elk and eagles. In 2021 we saw elk.
