A national park is not a playground. it’s a sanctuary for nature and for humans who will accept nature on nature’s own terms.

Size: Approximately 33,265 acres (13,468 hectares).
Haleakala is translated “House of the Sun”. The park is located on the beautiful island of Maui and is described as “the quietest place on Earth.” Apparently there is nowhere on Earth that starting at sea level, a 38 mile drive places you up at 10,023 feet. Native Hawaiians consider this a spiritual place where even today ancient rituals are performed. Haleakala is also a world class location to observe the stars. Coupled with warm, white sand beaches, shaved ice and fresh seafood this trip was paradise at its best.
